With Show&Tour, you can connect either a subdomain (e.g., tours.mywebsite.com) or a root domain (e.g., mywebsite.com), as long as you’re on the Plus, Pro, or Unlimited plan and you have access to the DNS settings.
Note: Your root domain must not already be used for your main website, email, or other services. If it is, it’s safer to use a subdomain instead.
Step 1: Access Your Domain’s DNS Settings
Log in to your registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains) and open the DNS management or zone editor.
Step 2: Add the Appropriate Record
Tip: For subdomains, you can pick any word you like — for example:
tours.mywebsite.com
listings.mywebsite.com
media.mywebsite.com
properties.mywebsite.com
Domain Type | Record Type | Host | Target / Points To |
Subdomain | CNAME (best) | Word you choose (e.g. tours) | hosting.show.tours |
Subdomain | A record (alt.) | Word you choose (e.g. tours) | 167.172.12.231 |
Root domain | CNAME (best) |
| hosting.show.tours |
Root domain | A record (alt.) |
| 167.172.12.231 |

Step 3: Verify the Setup
Visit your connected domain in a browser. If it’s set up correctly, you’ll see the Show&Tour logo with the message:
“Oops! This domain is not registered for hosting yet!”
If it doesn’t appear, try in a private/incognito window or clear your browser cache.
Tips & Troubleshooting
DNS Propagation: Changes can take a few minutes or up to 48 hours.
Root Domain Reminder: Only use your root domain if it’s not already powering a website or other services you need.
Automatic SSL: Show&Tour automatically issues free SSL certificates once your domain is confirmed.
Conflicting Records: Remove or update any old A or CNAME records that conflict with your new setup.
