Understanding how to use property websites, delivery pages, and media players

Updated over 3 years ago

In the video above, I will go over the differences between a property website, deliverables page, and the media player.

I’ll start with the deliverables page.

It’s a simple concept. The deliverables page will hold everything your client may need to access the content you created for them. You can also add an invoice with a link to pay for the project.

So this may include a photo gallery with easy download buttons, a video or virtual tour with the direct link and embed code, the branded and unbranded links to the property website or media player, and so on.

This page is not meant to be public facing, which is why we gave it a secure link with random characters.

Next, let’s look at the property website.

Typically, you would use a property website to equip your real estate agent with an easy shareable showcase for their listings. It makes the agent look good, helps them impress their sellers, and in my experience it helps agents understand how they could share the photos, video, and virtual tours you create for them.

The property website is simply a public facing website for your project, so you can actually use it in other ways as well. Personally, I have used it to share a past project with a potential architect client. I have created photo galleries just to share on Facebook. And I’ve even make a mini website for an Airbnb client.

I’m sure there are other uses that I haven’t discovered yet! So if you come up with one, please share.

Lastly, let’s look at the Media Player

The media player is also meant to be a public facing showcase of your project. You can of course just link to it directly, but the primary purpose of the media player is to combine multiple forms of media into a single embeddable player that can be placed on any website. It’s also a great way to brand your business since your logo is placed in the bottom left corner with a link to your website.

The use cases for the media player are truly endless. A few examples include...

  • You may use it for an apartment client to combine the virtual tours of all their model units.

  • If you don’t want or need a full property website, but still want to provide your agent with a gallery of the photos, video, and virtual tour you created. You can use it for that.

  • Maybe your real estate agent likes to use their own website to showcase the listing, so you could provide the embed code to the media player.

  • You could use it on your own website to showcase a few of your favorite videos, photo galleries, or virtual tours.

Like property websites, I’m sure there are other uses that I haven’t discovered yet. So if you come up with one, please share.

So that’s it for this article! Hopefully you can see all that great ways you can use Show & Tour. I’m excited to see what you build!
